Gentry County Parole or Probation
Parole and probation both allow a person to live outside a jail or prison while subject to rules, reporting, and agency oversight. They do not arise in the same way. Parole follows imprisonment and operates under the Missouri Parole Board and Department of Corrections framework. Probation comes from a court order and may be used instead of a prison term or as part of the sentence. Conditional release is another Missouri term. It divides certain prison sentences between confinement and a period of community supervision set by law.
A Gentry County person can therefore be released from physical custody without being free of state jurisdiction. The active MODOC Offender Web Search includes people on probation and parole. Public MODOC information may identify the supervision term, confirmation of supervision, supervising officer and office, county of conviction, and a parole or conditional-release date. The exact fields can vary, so the official record should be read as labeled.
| Status | How it begins | What release means | Who controls it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Parole | Board action after a prison term begins | Release from prison while DOC legal custody continues | Missouri Parole Board and MODOC |
| Probation | Order entered by the sentencing court | Community supervision under the judgment | Court and MODOC Division of Probation and Parole |
| Conditional release | Statutory split between prison and supervision | Release from confinement into the sentence's supervised portion | MODOC under Missouri law |
| Discharge | Supervision reaches its lawful end | Final release from the supervision term | MODOC or the court, based on the case |
- Parole
- Conditional community release after imprisonment, with the person remaining in DOC legal custody.
- Probation
- Court-ordered community supervision that does not by itself prove a prison term was completed.
- Absconder
- An official supervision status, not a label for any person who merely misses one routine appointment.
- Discharge
- The end of probation, parole, or conditional-release supervision.
Verify Gentry County Post-Release Supervision
Start with identity, not a status guess. The live state search accepts first and last names, including aliases, and is designed for active offenders. A name match alone is weak proof. Compare the DOC number and all available identifiers, then separate prison custody, parole, conditional release, and probation information. MODOC's public-information rules explain which supervision facts may be open.
- Search the exact last and first name in the active MODOC system. Retry a known alias or spelling variation if needed.
- Compare the DOC number and identifying details before opening a record. Do not choose a result solely because the name is similar.
- Read status, sentence, county of conviction, supervision term, office, and any parole or conditional-release date as separate fields.
- Ask MODOC to confirm active supervision, the supervising officer's name, and the assigned office when the public screen is unclear.
- Use Missouri Case.net for the Gentry County judgment, probation order, revocation filing, warrant entry, or discharge order.
- If the live search has no result, check the official current-and-prior file and contact MODOC before deciding the person was never supervised.
The current live record is best for a person still on Gentry County parole or probation. The nightly all-offenders current and prior file is the official fallback after final discharge. It is a compressed data source with a field dictionary, not a simple name-search page. When coded events or overlapping cases are unclear, MODOC remains the source that can explain its own record.
Note: A current jail roster shows physical custody, while an active MODOC record may show community supervision after release.
Gentry County District 1 Supervision
Gentry County belongs to the MODOC Division of Probation and Parole's District 1. The official district information identifies a seven-county service area: Gentry, Atchison, Nodaway, Worth, Holt, Andrew, and Buchanan. That regional structure matters because the assigned office may not be inside Gentry County. The active offender record and the officer's instructions should control where a particular person reports.
The official District 1 view below shows the state source that connects Gentry County to this supervision district.
The district page establishes service coverage, but it does not replace a person's current reporting directions or disclose private case-plan details.

Gentry Reporting Reference
An older official District 1 guide identifies a reporting location at the Gentry County Courthouse in Albany.
The Albany reference comes from an older guide. Assignments, reporting sites, and appointment instructions can change. Call the office or assigned officer before traveling, and do not assume that every Gentry County person reports at the same site.
Gentry County Parole Board Limits
The Missouri Parole Board decides parole matters under the discretionary authority in RSMo 217.690. Its official materials publish rules and time-to-serve guidance, but warn that guideline time does not guarantee release. A date can be set below or above a guideline. No public case-by-case hearing calendar or decisions search was found on the current Board site, so a general calendar should not be treated as a named person's release schedule.
The official Board view below is the matching source for its rules and time-to-serve resources.
Those materials explain the framework. Only the person's Board notice and MODOC record resolve the actual result.
The official hearing-process page says scheduling depends on sentence length and a decision generally takes about eight to twelve weeks. An outcome may set a future release date, schedule another hearing, defer the matter for more information or programming, or deny release. A hearing itself is not release. Board Operations can address named-case process questions at 573-751-8488 or DOC.COBoardOperations@doc.mo.gov. Requests for releasable Board records can go to ParoleBoard.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov, subject to the closure authority in RSMo 217.670.
Note: A presumptive parole date remains tentative until conduct, the release plan, and later Board action support the release.
Gentry County Supervision Violations
Supervision conditions come from the court, Board, MODOC, and the individual case. Public records can confirm status and office assignment, but they do not open confidential treatment, medical, or private case-plan material. A violation may lead to an intermediate sanction, arrest, a revocation filing, or return to custody. The court docket and MODOC status should be read together because each records a different part of the process.
An absconder is a formal agency status. It should not be inferred from a missed appointment, a rumor, or an old address. No official Gentry County absconder list was found. Check the active MODOC record, ask the assigned office for public confirmation, and review Case.net for a warrant or revocation action. If one source has not yet updated, record dates and agency names before reconciling the difference.
MOVANS may provide notice of some custody and court events, but it does not determine supervision status on its own. Missouri changed its local-jail and court notification system in May 2026. New local registrations use SMS and email, while DOC notification has a separate support route. A notification can flag a change; the MODOC record and court order establish what changed.
Correct Gentry County Supervision Records
A local booking or release error should first be taken to the Gentry County sheriff as the likely local record holder. Describe the field, attach the source that supports the correction, and ask for a correction or written annotation. If the custodian is unclear, RSMo 610.023 requires the public body to make the custodian's identity and location available on request. Keep proof of delivery and the response.
A DOC status error belongs with MODOC because the state owns that data. Distinguish an error from the live search's designed limit. A person who has fully completed supervision may disappear from the active name search even though a prior state record remains. The nightly current/prior file is the durable official route, and MODOC Constituent Services can help with a general search problem. A specific active-status question should go to the field officer.
For the full local release event, the Gentry County released-inmate search and records path also checks the sheriff record and court disposition. That prevents a state supervision entry from being mistaken for the precise time a person left a holding facility.
Gentry County Supervision Discharge
Release from a cell and discharge from supervision are not the same event. A parolee or person on conditional release can live in the community while still in DOC legal custody. A probationer remains bound by the court's supervision order. Final discharge ends that supervision term. The official record may be a DOC discharge entry, a court discharge order, or both, depending on the sentence.
MODOC's Early Discharge and Earned Compliance Credit page describes early discharge as final release from probation, parole, or conditional-release supervision before the scheduled expiration date. Eligibility and exclusions apply. Earned compliance credit affects qualifying supervision terms, not every case and not the prison door date.
After final discharge, use the current/prior file rather than expecting the person to remain in the live search. Case.net may also show a probation discharge order or later case action. Neither a missing active result nor an old supervision entry should be read alone. Match the person, dates, court case, and MODOC event before reaching a conclusion.
Note: Final supervision discharge explains why a once-active Gentry County record may no longer appear in the live MODOC search.
